When you spend decades working on a hobby and your list of things to still research grows longer every day, sometimes you need a little motivation to remind you of how far you've come.
Here's a listing of some of the Genealogy projects I'm most proud of having accomplished:
My Successes
Located ancestors:- Located Norwegian name and ancestral home of Bertha Olson, paternal great-great-grandmother
- Determined birth parents of daughter-in-law’s great-grandmother
- Completed research regarding grandparents of an adoptee
- Expanded Stroh family tree by determining Christian Stroeh is the child of Magdelana Stroh Krabbenhoft's father
- Determined names of 3x great-grandparents, parents of Margaret Peterson Untiedt
DNA
- Managed 12 DNA kits and analyzed top matches
- Incorporated DNA analytics with paper trails to prove genealogy connections which have expanded my family tree to more than 13,000 persons
- Shared digital copies of relevant photos with Rock County Historical Society of Minnesota
- Scanned the family archives of Don Untiedt
- Identified connection between Girard, Kansas and two unrelated lines of my expanded tree
