Maurud, Norway

My paternal grandmother was a Morud. Her father, Berger, immigrated to the US from Norway; at immigration to the U.S. his name was changed from Maurud to Morud. I recently came to learn that Maurud was actually the name of the place in Norway where he lived. My records had indicated Gjovik Norway as his place of birth, and so initially I never looked beyond that. See the Google Map screenshots below to acclimate yourself to the area.

The area is now a ropes climbing course and fun vacation spot.
