Roots Magic

Lately, I've been doing a little clean-up work.

I use a software application called RootsMagic, to maintain my official family tree records along with images. While there are lots of opportunities to improve the software, what I like about it is, that I can independently load information and organize it like it's own database. It connects directly to Ancestry, so I can select something in Ancestry and it quickly loads to RootsMagic.

My biggest clean-up task actually is because Ancestry makes it so easy to find data and so I've gotten ahead of myself. I've selected data and downloaded it, but there's more to the record than Ancestry is pointing out. For example, Ancestry might include the 1940 Census report and include some facts like age and residence, which I can download to Rootsmagic, but it also has other data such as Occupation, Education, and relationships.
